Are There Adoption Agency Fees if it is a Private Adoption?
If your adoption is a private adoption (also referred to as independent, identified, or non-agency adoption), you will typically not have any adoption agency placement fees. However, you may still be required to have a home study or family study completed by an adoption agency or by a licensed social worker. As a result, a private adoption is often much less expensive to the adoptive parents than the costs of an adoption agency placement fee. This may differ in states other than Pennsylvania.
